Extractions & General Oral Surgery

We use local anaesthesia to numb the area completely during the procedure, so you won't feel any pain. You may experience some discomfort and swelling after the extraction, which can be managed with prescribed or over-the-counter pain medication.

Most patients recover within 3-7 days for simple extractions and 1-2 weeks for surgical extractions. We'll provide detailed aftercare instructions and schedule a follow-up appointment to ensure proper healing.

Before your appointment, inform us of any medications you're taking and any medical conditions. Arrange for someone to drive you home if you'll be receiving sedation. Avoid eating for several hours before surgery if sedation is planned.

Not everyone needs wisdom teeth removed. We recommend extraction if your wisdom teeth are impacted, causing pain, infection, or crowding, or if they're difficult to clean and at risk of decay. We'll assess your situation with X-rays and provide personalised recommendations.
